What happened, Miss Simone? Tome.

The first model to walk out was black. So was the second. And the third. Pearls were clutched as a gaggle of white women sitting in front row wondered why Tome dared to not only open with one woman of colour, but with three. This had to be my favourite moment of the week thus far, putting into question the entitlement that many white women felt that evening as women of colour were the focus of the show.

The Tome show was inspired by 'What happened, Miss Simone?', a documentary (which I am sure you can binge on Netflix), chronicling the ups and downs of the incredible Nina Simone.  Her beauty and elegance was reflected in the earthy shades of the 60s, complemented by some wild prints and edgy cuts.
